The upcoming next-gen Tata Nexon (2023) – What to expect with it

Looks like Tata will be incorporating newer design elements on the upcoming Tata Nexon (2023) which is likely based on the Avinya concept. The news comes after a huge overhaul of the design head Martin Uhlarik who has replaced Pratap Bose to unleash newer designs and language in the upcoming models to indicate how Tata Motors is moving forward with a new design direction.

According to RushLane’s design specialist Pratyush Route who drew a rendition of the upcoming Tata Motors (2023) based on the Avinya concept, the model shows a ‘T’ motif that springs up from left to right while signifying the new identity that Tata is working on. The upcoming model brings Harrier-inspired low-mounted headlamp clusters onboard as well which makes the overall look amazing. Nexon is currently available in petrol and diesel options although the upgraded architecture makes the upcoming Nexon ready with electric options as well. It is also the need of the hour given the skyrocketing fuel prices and the stringent laws imposed by governments in India. As of now, Motor Octane pointed out that Nexon could be using a 1.2L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel unit along with more power and torque to the engine. There’s a 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options available with the Nexon as well.

Tata Nexon is already at the frontier when it comes to new features and more. We are awaiting a larger infotainment system with the new model along with a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, heads-up display, and a new digital instrument cluster to ask for a few ones. However, only time will tell if that’s possible or if there’s something more or less we will get with the upcoming Nexon. Tata Motors as one of the Indian OEMs usually stretch the lifespans of their models a lot. It is the opposite of what its rivals such as MG, Kia, and Hyundai are doing at the moment. It makes it obvious that Tata Motors should revamp its model lifestyle and should release a next-gen Nexon within 8 years of its inception. There’s a new model in the works expected to arrive sometime in 2026-27 although we are yet to see it.
