The event is said to see the introduction of 2 new smartphones OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Pro like the company has done in past. Both these smartphones will be the newest flagship devices from the brand. OnePlus 10 series will be the 2nd series to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset after Xiaomi’s 12 series which is launching in China on December 28.

OnePlus 10 Pro Display Teased

Ahead of its official launch, founder and CEO Pete Lau has teased the display of the OnePlus 10 Pro via his Weibo account. According to his post, the OnePlus 10 Pro will have a low-polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display. Due to this, the OnePlus 10 Pro will be capable of bringing down the screen refresh rate to 1Hz from 120Hz, based on content. It is claimed to deliver a smoother experience and is likely to improve the smartphone’s battery life too as compared to the normal LTPS OLED screens.

OnePlus 10 Pro Expected Specs

The biggest change that the OnePlus 10 Series is experiencing is the operating system which will now be an integrated OS merging OxygenOS and ColorOS. Commenting on this change, Pete Lau had said, “With this approach, we are working on the creation of an integrated operating system combining the very best strings of OxygenOS as well as ColorOS.” Leaked renders of the OnePlus 10 Pro indicated a triple camera setup at the back in a square-shaped camera module and a textured back to finish. In the camera department, the smartphone is said to have a 48MP primary camera, a 50MP wide-angle camera, and an 8MP camera. The front will have a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls. Recently concept renders for the OnePlus 10 Pro surfaced online which suggest a large camera module, curved display, and rounded edges. It shows the OnePlus 10 Pro in multiple colors including Black, Green, Purple, and Silver. One Plus 10 Series is likely to feature a 6.7-inch display with a 5000mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It is expected to feature up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It is also tipped to be IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. However, the OnePlus 10 series is said to get a better front camera and 80W wired charging.
