The user privacy-focused company accuses Google of such forceful practices for tracking users and targeted advertising. Thus, interested users are asked to update their DuckDuckGo browser and plugins to see this new mode and be more private.

DuckDuckGo’s Google Sign-in Pop-Up Protection

Continuing its wrath against Google, DuckDuckGo has announced a new privacy mode called the Google Sign-in Pop-Up Protection – which aims to block the forced Google sign-in popups on any website you visit.

Well, it’s actually Google that offers this as a win-win program – where it gets the specific cookie data to know users better, while the sites adopting its sign-in can have ads placed on them and earn money. This targeted advertising has long been in existence and continues to happen even though several governments and privacy-focused users object to it. While Google and others are working on alternate models to track users better, DuckDuckGo has come up with its own plan. And that’s to ban Google sign-in entirely! The privacy-preaching browser company announced a new mode called the Google Sign-in Pop-Up Protection – where blocks all the Google sign-in popups arising on any website you visit. This would help in a seamless and secure browsing experience, as you won’t be offering your data. So if you’re interested, update your DuckDuckGo browser and plugins to see the new mode.
